POSITION: Full-time senior appointment in Dance

RANK/SALARY: Associate Professor/Professor, tenured or tenure-track appointment in Dance.
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a visible and active profile of scholarly activity; participate in shaping the research vision within the Department; teach graduate and undergraduate courses in dance related to the candidate’s expertise; advise graduate students and contribute to an active graduate research culture; advise undergraduate students; engage in appropriate service to the College, the University, and the profession.

QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD in Dance/Performance required; a specialism in dance anthropology, Asian or Asian American dance studies, or dance, globalization and diasporic movement would be welcomed; an outstanding scholar within the field of dance studies who demonstrates a visible national and international profile; experience of graduate advising and service to the academic community; strong track record of publication; excellence in teaching and knowledge of curriculum design and development; and would be willing to take on a leadership role within the Department.

Temple University’s Boyer College of Music and Dance is located on the University’s main campus in the culturally rich and diverse city of Philadelphia.  Fall 2013 enrollment included 773 students served by more than 50 full-time faculty and approximately 100 affiliate faculty. The Department offers a BFA, MA, MFA and PhD degree in Dance.  There are currently 8 FTE faculty in dance serving 70 undergraduate dance majors and 34 graduate students.
