3 Post-Doc Grants and 2 PhD Grants are offered at Universidade Nova de Lisboa – FCSH (Faculty of Social and Human Sciences), for a period of up to five years, starting in June or Septembre 2014, ending in April 2019.
In the context of the European Research Council (ERC-Starting Grant) funded project, BLACKBOX- A collaborative platform to document performance composition: from conceptual structures in the backstage to customizable visualizations in the front-end", we are seeking to hire three excellent Post-Doc candidates in the following research areas:
a) 1 in Computer Science (3D modeling, 3D reconstruction and augmented reality)
b) 1 in Multimodal Communication/Linguistics (cognitive and ethnographic perspectives)
c) 1 in Performance Studies and Digital Media (web-design and graphic interfaces)
General objectives of the BlackBox project:
Perform theoretical and innovative interdisciplinary research on the intersection of multimodal communication, performance composition and new digital media
Document, transmit and preserve the unexplored knowledge contained in performance composition processes.
Assist artists with tools to facilitate their choreographic or dramaturgic practices, preferably on a collaborative basis.
Candidates for the Post-Doc grants should hold a PhD in one (or a combination) of these fields:
Computer Science / Software Engineering
New Digital Media
Cognitive Linguistics
Neurosciences
Performance Studies
